Tangierino in Boldface
Samad Naamad, chef/owner of Charlestown’s Tangierino gets a big, splashy write-up in the comparably big and splashy BoldFacers, a new web mag “uncovering Boston’s up-and-comers from all walks of life.”
The prose, befitting the site’s mission de guerre, is ladled on rather thick. For example, our “swarthy, dimpled” Morocco-born restaurateur, also a “designer/chef/actor/producer/director/entrepreneur,” is “one of the hottest chefs in Boston.” And judging from the pic, smartly dressed to boot. Of course, that was likely taken before the no-show chef forced him to swap “suit coat for apron.”
What’s our “Renaissance man” serving up? How about some “tuna tartar appetizer, with sweet mango, lemon and 40 Moroccan spices,” or the “cucumber with cilantro and olive oil and guacamole”? Equally enticing is the “Sultan’s Kadra entrée: roast lamb, breaded and lightly fried eggplant, goat cheese, a mix of African and French cooking.”
Have any readers been to Tangierino? If so, please let me know and I will spotlight your reviews here in the Kitchen. Thanks!

I do not like the service
Tangierino is one of Boston’s best restaurants! Unique décor, fab food, definitely my favorite romantic restaurant.
