How Farmers Are Faring, Part II

The 2007 agricultural census was a status check into the state of American’s farms. And while the overall number of farms have increased due to the growth of small, boutique farms, many “mid-sized” farms are failing.

In Part I, Carol House of the National Agricultural Statistics Services parsed the census numbers with Here & Now’s Robin Young. In this second part, Young speaks with Jon Satz, who runs the “mid-sized” Woods Market Garden in Brandon, Vermont.
